Call Me By Your Name

Hey guys!

I somehow managed to finish another book! So far I’ve only finished 3 books, which in my opinion is really disappointing, since I wanted to finish at least 5 books by the end of summer. That is of course my own fault, since I’m too lazy and find it easier to just watch Netflix.

Anyway, I already introduced you guys to this book (here). I bought it along with some books for uni. I only heard about the movie AFTER I placed my order, so I told myself that I wanted to read the book before I watched the movie.
Books tend to have more detailed descriptions, character’s thoughts and let the reader visualize the scenaries by themselves. It’s always something else and I love it.

Call me by your name is a book by André Achiman, and the story takes place in Italy in the 70’s. The main character is the 17 year old boy Elio, who is a son of a lector. His family rents room for guests during summer, and this is how he meets the american lector Oliver.

I think it was an interesting book for the most part, but some parts of the book lost me, and it took me days to get through some pages since there wasn’t happening anything interesting in the story line. Other times it was just hard to put the book down. It was a 50/50 thing.
I’m not gonna lie but it was definitely my first erotic book, so it was a little hard (and awkward) for me to get through it. I’m literally wondering how people do it so casually, haha.

It was definitely a challenging and different book, but I loved the story-line and how intellectual the young main character is and how he simply wonder about things normal 17 year olds usually don’t. If you’re not used to these kinds of books and want to challenge yourself or need a warm up or for books like, I don’t know, fifthy shades? Then try this one 😉

We’re all Golden Sunflowers inside

Hey guys!
I’ve been caught up in work, and passed out as soon as I came home – so I haven’t been that active as I should’ve been. These are some of the recent pictures I’ve posted on instagram.

For some months ago I bought the colorful palette Zulu by Juvia’s Place. I didn’t have any colorful palettes and always wanted to experiment with different bold looks. I escpecially fell in love with the yellow shade! I’ve tried it before, and this time I wanted to try it again and intensify it.

Since I got home little later from work and the set already set, I had minimum daylight to lighten up my pictures, so they look kinda blurry and low quality. Also look how adorable the sunflower looks hehe.

I tried to create a purple look and green, but it’s really not the easiest looks to shoot pictures of and dress up for – my wardrobe has become too basic for that 😂

The Perks of Being a Wall Flower

Hey guys! I’ve previously mentioned that I’ve got a lot of books to read before I buy more. Some are gifted to me and others I have bought myself. I think this book was gifted to me, but at this point I don’t really remember.
There are many cover-versions of this book; the orange, which I have, blue and with the movie-cover. Yes, this book has been made into a movie. I actually watched the movie twice before I got this book. I liked the movie, but I got to love and understand the story far more by reading it!

This book is written as letters from our main character, Charlie. He writes like anyone would do in a diary, and reports about his first year in high school. The more you read, the more you start to understand Charlie’s situation, without giving too much away.
Without spoiling the book, I can tell you that this book has some amazing book/music references, memorable quotes and the ending got me almost in tears.

This book has to be one of my favorites, and as it says it’s a modern classic. I’m glad that I own this book instead of just borrowing it from the library.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone! It is super easy to read, and I finished the book within 2 days – I had a hard time putting the book down 🙂
