East of Eden

Hey guys!
Heheheh yeaaah, lot of pictures huh? You should’ve seen how badly I was struggling to take these pictures. It is really hard when you’re on your own with only a phone and with no tripod or anything. At the end I just got frustratingly stressed and messed up my second look. Thank lord these pictures turned out well – otherwise I’d had lost the will to try again for a long time 😭

This look reminds a lot like another one I did back in summer 2018 (here). I really liked that look, and it might be my favorite one. So I got inspired to create a similar white/simple look. As previously, I kept the makeup kind of simple – no bold colors, and mostly elegant bridal like. ♥

Upgrading: Pro

Hey guys!
After a while, I decided to upgrade my kit and finally ordered the Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam palette and BH Cosmetics Studio Pro Ultimate Brow palette. I’ve been kind of uninspired to do makeup looks or experiment – especially because of lack of sunlight. Now that spring is coming, I’m getting all exciting!

As I am slowly getting into freelancing so I wanted to upgrade my kit. I haven’t really had a new palette for like 2 years I think. Also I thought I should invest in more versatile products, since most of the stuff I have are more suiting myself.
And as I’m slowly upgrading my kit, I also intend to increase the price slowly on clients (Products + transport + service). From my end I will practice for improvements, skills and experience.

I already got to play a little with the soft glam palette, and will post a seperate post about it 😉

10 min. Everyday Makeup Look

Hey guys!
I’m not gonna lie: Since September I tried to start dress more appropriate and make an actual effort to look good/presentable at school. Unfortunately I mostly have morning classes/lectures, and I refuse to skip breakfast – So I eventually developed a quick 5-10 minutes makeup routine.

Realistically, some mornings I have more time than others, and depending on that, I add/skip some steps in the routine. Some days I don’t even have the time to do my brows, so I just skip the whole thing. Also keep in mind, that I’ve done my skincare routine in prior.

Routine:

I know it sounds like many steps, but in reality it doesn’t take that long! How’s your everyday makeup look? 🙂 ♥

Tell Me a Joke

Hey guys!

Update: After the first week of back to school, we were lucky enough to get another week of holiday. So at the moment, I’m at my parents’ house so I can do the bare minimum and save some money.
An exciting news is that I’m going somewhere in the beginning of March, and everything is booked. When the time comes, I’ll post all about it (or the most interesting parts) on my socials.

Another thing is, I splurged money on something I’ve been wanting for so looong. So when I get it delivered to my apartment I’ll show you it in a seperate post 😉

The pictures above were taken spontanously, as I didn’t think my other pictures in my library fit the grid so well. Believe it or not, I’m kinda running out of pictures, and have been lacking on posting these days.
Hopefully it will get better by next month 😉 ♥

Ready Player One

Hey guys!
So here’s a review on a book/movie after a long time. I finally got the time to read again, and decided to read a book I got for christmas: Ready Player One, by Ernest Cline.
The book really caught my interest, and when I found out that Netflix just got the movie, I had to watch it. I decided to finish the book first, since books are known to be “better” than the movies. And if I know myself right, I wouldn’t have the motivation to read it after watching the movie.

The Book

  • The beginning was a little bit hard to get through, since they had to set the whole scenario of the society and get the background knowlegde
  • The story quickly got interesting and then it was difficult to actually put down the book
  • All the detailed description made it possible for you to imagine the whole scenario in your head
  • Probably one of the best books I’ve read
  • Loved all the 80’s references – the author has done the most outstanding research for this novel.
  • Without spoiling too much, the ending was so EPIC my heart started to race while reading it!

The Movie

  • I was all in all quite dissapointed in the movie, because there were MAJOR changes in the storyline compared to the book.
  • The fact that they changed the roles and names in the story, and the people who were supposed to die, didn’t die, really annoyed me.
  • The heroine Art3mis wasn’t as badass in the movie as she was in the book.
  • Aech’s avatar wasn’t portraied as described in the book, and wasn’t a Halliday geek  🙁
  • They didn’t explain some essentials in the movie like, what a gunter was, or that the whole contest was based on the timeline 1980’s.
  • I was impressed by the actor they casted for the main role as Wade – it matched (in my opinion) perfectly to the book-description, and met my expectations. Also played the role VERY well!
  • Same goes for the actor who played Aech in real person – also met my expectation.
  • It really annoyed me that they changed the whole game of finding the keys to the easter egg, because in the movie they made it seem very easy. When in reality (the book) it was lot more complicated and exciting.

All in all

All in all, I would definitely recommend you all to read the book BEFORE you watch the movie. I mean, yeah the movie was great, especially all the art and scenarios, but if you only watch the movie, you will miss out all the great details. I swear, the book makes the whole hunting way more exciting and the storyline is MINDBLOWING! 🙂
